What does Microsoft 365 E7 cost and what is in it?
Two SKUs. $99.00 user/month paid yearly with Microsoft Teams, $90.45 user/month paid yearly without it. Both are annual commitment, so the yearly figure is the one to budget against.
| Microsoft 365 E7 | $99.00 user/month, paid yearly (annual commitment) |

What the license bundles
So the short reading is E5 plus three things: Copilot, the control plane for agents, the Entra Suite. The No Teams line drops chat, calling, meetings, webinars with Microsoft Teams plus the Teams Phone calling entry. Everything else in the two pricing panels reads the same.
Microsoft calls it the Frontier Suite. It was announced March 9, 2026 for general availability on May 1, 2026, the same day Microsoft Agent 365 went generally available on its own at $15 per user. That standalone figure is the one to hold against the E5-to-E7 gap when you build the case.
How Microsoft states the price
At $99 per user, E7 is priced below purchasing these capabilities à la carte, giving customers a simpler, more cost-effective way to deploy enterprise AI at scale.

The plan numbers are part of the name, which matters when you read a quote. Intune appears as Plan 1 plus Plan 2. Defender for Endpoint sits at P2, Defender for Office 365 at P2, Entra ID at P2. Send us the seat count if you want a line-by-line quote against what you run today.
Are Security Compute Units included with Microsoft 365 E7?
Yes. 400 SCUs for every 1,000 paid user licenses, at no additional cost each month, up to 10,000 SCUs per month. The capability they attach to is agentic AI in Security Copilot.
How Microsoft states it
Customers with Microsoft 365 E5 and E7 receive 400 Security Compute Units (SCUs) for every 1,000 paid user licenses at no additional cost each month, up to 10,000 SCUs per month.
Two things worth noting. The grant scales with seat count, since it is stated per 1,000 paid user licenses rather than per tenant. The 10,000 SCU monthly ceiling holds however large the tenant gets.
E5 carries the same allowance, so SCUs are not on their own a reason to move up a tier. Compare the two on Microsoft 365 E5. The rest of what Microsoft 365 Copilot does has its own page.

May 1, 2026. Microsoft announced it on March 9, 2026 as Microsoft 365 E7: The Frontier Suite, describing it as designed for a human-led, agent-operated enterprise. Microsoft Agent 365 reached general availability the same day.
An Azure subscription. Microsoft’s own note on Copilot Studio: an Azure subscription is required to use agents and is priced on a metered basis. Copilot Studio capabilities in Microsoft 365 are provided under Copilot Studio terms. Worth pricing before you plan a rollout, since the metered part sits outside the per-user license.

Eligible enterprise and government cloud customers should work with their Microsoft representatives for additional storage requirements. Storage allocations in Education tenants may be limited.
